Opticians Check Up
Due to being diabetic , my routine eye test is yearly rather than 2 yearly. The test though is free for diabetics so thats a bonus. Ive already had My yearly diabetic eye screening with the NHS and that came back clear.
Ive noticed my distance vision is slightly fuzzy , not enough to wear glaasses constantly , however anything that allows my eyes to focus without strain is always worth having.
Ive gone for my usual reading glasses but this time ive gone for some designer distance glasses … as well as the usual anti glare and scratch resistance , these are also transitions so will also act as sunglasses. being transitions, they will also work in the car to reduce glare without the cars windscreen affecting the view.
not cheap but a small price to pay for your eyesight.
Big thanks to Boots Opticians for looking after me as always !
FTTP UPDATE
The telegraph pole outside my property has been fitted with the node required to send fibre over to my premises.
( it’s the block on the right )
all that’s left is to wait til active then book an install.
it’s getting exciting ☺️
Roof Venting installed.
in readiness for my bathroom ceiling extraction unit , my roof venting was installed today 🙃
House Maintenance.
I’ve decided on a couple of projects this year to improve the property.
First, I’m going to get the stairs hallway walls insulated and plastered. This will help trap more heat and also make the walls much smoother for decorating.
The second project is to have a ceiling extractor fitted to the bathroom that will expell steam / moisture out through the roof .
There may also be a little boarding work done in the loft area too.
will update with pictures once completed but as I’m not actually doing the works myself , I can only post once the work has been completed.
Car Care.
The car passed its MOT yesterday with flying colours.
No advisories either.
I was thinking of a full service or at least an interim, however the mechanic said to leave it as milage over the year was extremely low and on checking around for me , it was deemed not worth doing and to leave it another 6 months.
Thanks again Coles of stafford.
More Security.
To compliment the new motorised camera seen at the corner of the house , I’ve now added a floodlight .
This now enables ALL cameras to record footage in full colour even at night. It ties in with the existing cameras PIR so motion enables the floodlight from all cameras as well as its own sensor.
it’s powered over ethernet so no expensive running costs and kicks out over 2000 lumens.
very pleased with it so far.
Security Camera Upgrade
One of my trusty security cameras died recently , of course i couldnt resist the chance to upgrade to a better model.
The Reolink 823A.
This one has automated car , people and even pet tracking and also features spotlight mode at night allowing full bright colour footage as if it was daylight. its also features an alarm and voice to voice communication .
Check out more of its features as well as user footage on the reolink site ..
A happy wife !!
I noticed a Samsung deal on the interweb a few days ago .
Samsung Galaxy tab S8 reduced from £750 to £599.
…Not only that , if we had an old tablet to trade , then a further £89 off the price.
scouring the house , i managed to find an ancient 10 year old tablet that no longer was viable to use .
Happy Days !!
Havent heard from the wifey in days , so i know shes pleased with her new Tab .
