• More Security.

To compliment the new motorised camera seen at the corner of the house , I’ve now added a floodlight .

This now enables ALL cameras to record footage in full colour even at night. It ties in with the existing cameras PIR so motion enables the floodlight from all cameras as well as its own sensor.

it’s powered over ethernet so no expensive running costs and kicks out over 2000 lumens.

very pleased with it so far.

  • Security Camera Upgrade

One of my trusty security cameras died recently , of course i couldnt resist the chance to upgrade to a better model.

    The Reolink 823A.

This one has automated car , people and even pet tracking and also features spotlight mode at night allowing full bright colour footage as if it was daylight. its also features an alarm and voice to voice communication .

Check out more of its features as well as user footage on the reolink site ..

  • A happy wife !!

I noticed a Samsung deal on the interweb a few days ago .

Samsung Galaxy tab S8 reduced from £750 to £599.

…Not only that , if we had an old tablet to trade , then a further £89 off the price.

scouring the house , i managed to find an ancient 10 year old tablet that no longer was viable to use .

    Happy Days !!

Havent heard from the wifey in days , so i know shes pleased with her new Tab .

  • Router Upgrade.

In preparation for FTTP coming soon to my street , I’ve upgraded my synology router to the latest model , the RT6600AX.

Not only will this be perfect for full control and security of my home network , its more than capable of handling a FTTP connection. Combine this with WIFI 6 allowing speeds near to a wired network across my mobiles and tablets etc , there was no better choice. it even features a 2.5Gbe connection.

    just waiting for FTTP now.

  • STAFFORD FTTP

I’m on virgin media for my broadband, TV and phone package at the moment. Although I’m on the fastest connection for broadband ( 1GB download 57Mbps upload) , I always want more !!.

The good news is FTTP is being installed across Stafford via Openreach . This is a direct fibre connection from the actual exchange to the property.

The download speed would remain at 1GB that I have now but upload speed would be massively increased to 220Mbps.

Needless to say , I’ve already registered and I await a call once the infrastructure is In place.

  • Living Room Reset

Decided to have a change of furniture in the living room to match the decor.

We have gone with a grey and oak theme to match the walls and sofas , the oak tops go well with the shelving already in place on the far wall.

Still some more things to do but looking great so far.

  • More new sofas.

Decided to replace my sofas again. I wasn’t happy with the ones I got last year and needed recliners due to my DVT causing pain. I saw a good deal on two 2 seater power recliners and as they can be raised and lowered to exactly where I want them , I had to order.

very comfortable and they also come with USB so we can charge tablets and phones whilst chilling.

    Even loki approves ….

  • SOME PEOPLE…

shouldn’t be allowed on the internet. Especially those that are keyboard warriors that ‘anonymously’ comment.

they don’t realise that everything is recorded virtually right back to your door. Yes, although you can post anonymously , your IP Address can and could be used to track you down right to your front door.

secondly, I saw a comment from a idiot today that doesn’t know the difference between what your taxes and national insurance contributions are actually used for.

This person was obviously trying to belittle another forum member…. the reality is , he just made himself look the idiot that he is.

  • SNOW SEASON

I’m so glad my new car has heated front and rear windscreens as well as heated side mirrors. I just jump in , start the car and wait 2 mins whilst it clears itself.

This gives me plenty of time to sit in the warm whilst watching the local idiots ( i call them the Addams Family ) sweeping the snow off their cars with a yard brush 😛
