• Happy Daughter !!

My daughter had to work yesterday so I was tasked with collecting the Latest iPhone 15 that was pre ordered.

it didn’t arrive at the store til late but I still had a few hours left before close of business.

Happy to report it’s now in her hands , complete with protective case and screen guard.

    she’s a happy bunny now !

  • House Maintenance

I’m having the walls on my stairs insulated today as well as the loft boarded.

The guys are doing a great job , it’s a few hours in and plastering is now underway.

should keep the stairway toasty warm over winter 😉

  • COVID BOOSTER AND FLU JAB DAY.

As I am registered as a carer , as well as my annual flu jab , I’m also eligible for a covid booster. This was administered this morning whilst I had my diabetic review.

one in each arm so hopefully I’m covered for a few months at least 😀.

  • Annual Diabetic Review.

Had my annual diabetic review today.

Ive now been classed lower than pre diabetic and diet controlled. This means I only need to be checked once per year for diabetes. The doctor was extremely pleased with my results however a very small trace of blood was found in my urine sample so a recheck in 2 weeks.

I’ll be having a full blood count in a few weeks for my other issues and I’ll update once I get the results.

  • weirdo’s about

Noticed one of the adams family taking a picture of my property earlier. ( not their real names but that’s who they remind me of ).

2 lads mid 20’s had stuck a repulsive card on mine and other properties in the area.

hope you enjoyed your little stunt , I have you on camera and you can be easily identified.

    all of you 😉

  • TV Ambient Lights

Since upgrading to a 65″ Smart TV, I missed having the ambient lighting. Rather than using phillips hue , I’ve decided to use the govee setup this time.

rather than just a static colour of my choice, this time it actually matches what’s being shown on the screen . It’s also managed using alexa or Google home so I can just tell it what I need it to do.

Nice bit of kit and a fair bit cheaper than phillips.

  • FTTP INSTALLED.

My Fibre to the premises install was completed yesterday. Pleased to say all went well, I still have Virgin media till the end of the month so I can enjoy the best of both worlds for now.

I was hoping to do a feature for the Web page but I had other commitments so I only had time to take a few photos.

I’ll keep you updated with how it’s going after my initial bedding in period.

I’ll be using the supplied BT router for a few days whilst the line settles then will connect to my own synology router as it has the latest WiFi 6 for faster wireless speeds.

  • New TV

TV arrived yesterday, I would have posted an update but was busy enjoying the bigger screen lol.

played some playstation 5 games and it looks fantastic, very vibrant.

it virtually set itself up and having alexa built in was a bonus as I can voice control it too.

    here’s a pic , don’t let it fool you , it’s massive 😉

  • A Busy Week Ahead !

    Very busy this week.

I ordered a new tv at the weekend, my old one is showing signs it could fail soon so I’m having a new one before that happens.

This time I’ve gone for the 65″ rather than a 50″. Alexa enabled as well as Bluetooth and WiFi so all smart options will be available. That’s due for delivery Tuesday.

Also , full fibre broadband ( FTTP) will be installed at the premises on Thursday. This will entail a new fibre line being fitted from the pole direct to my house. A unit being fitted to the outside was and the fibre fed into the living room to a small fibre box ready to connect directly to my router.

speeds will be around 900 down and 110 up.

    I’ll keep you updated 🙂

  • YEARLY MED CHECK.

Quite a mixed bag this time around , nothing too serious though.

diabetic HBA1C blood test came back scoring 35 … that’s actually 3 points lower than last year and well below pre diabetic levels. Considering I’m now not on medication it’s a fantastic result and means I’m managing my diabetes without any assistance , just diet controlled.

The bad news is it appears I’m suffering depression and anxiety. The term the doctor used was called carer syndrome or carer burnout as it’s otherwise known. I’ve been on 2 types of medication for this for a few weeks and it seems to be settling the anxiety quite well so I’m happy to stay on them for a while.

All other tests came back within safe levels other than a serum ALT level that appears to be too high so that needs to be rechecked in a few months.
